The Braves are going #Back2Battle in search of another World Series championship, and their roster for the NLDS against the Phillies has been set.
Just ahead of the 10 a.m. deadline, the NL East champion Braves dropped their 26-man roster which features a few headlines as Spencer Strider is among those who made the cut as he works his way back from an oblique injury. While his role in the series remains to be seen, Braves fans should breathe a sigh of relief that he is available.
One integral member of the 2021 run will not be in the bullpen with Tyler Matzek being left off the NLDS roster after experiencing some elbow discomfort in his last outing, according to Mark Bowman. Jake Odorizzi will be on the roster after helping Atlanta to clinch the division in Miami with his best outing as a Brave.
The Braves opted to roll with six outfielders with Ehire Adrianza and Guillermo Heredia complimenting the regular rotation.
As for the Phillies, the biggest news from their roster drop is the fact that reliever David Robertson will miss the series after suffering a calf injury while celebrating a Bryce Harper home run in the wild card round.
First pitch from Truist Park is scheduled for 1:07 this afternoon with Max Fried set to start for Atlanta and Ranger Suarez going for Philadelphia.
