The Arizona Cardinals announced on Tuesday that they would be released long-time quarterback Kyler Murray. Could the franchise player be a potential fit with the Atlanta Falcons in 2026? The Morning Shift says not so fast.

"I don't know if I want Kyler Murray anywhere near my quarterback room," Beau Morgan said on Wednesday morning. He questioned the work ethic of Murray, citing the contract that he forced his way out of in Arizona.

"They put in a clause that I have never seen before, called the 'homework clause.' They ended up taking it back out after the uproar, but it had two requirements: it required him to do four hours of weekly, non-interrupted film study, and two, he was not allowed to play video games or watch TV during that time."

On top of the off-field questions for Beau, there is also the lingering injury concerns. Murray has played in just one full season since 2021, and various lower body injuries have hampered him throughout that period. A torn ACL in 2022 cost him the second-half of that season and then the first-half of 2023. He played a full season in 2024, but missed a major chunk of 2025 with a lingering foot injury.

"The development isn't there, but why?" Beau finished. "Is it because he doesn't have the right people around him, or is it that he doesn't care?"
