Atlanta Hawks General Manager Landry Fields joined Andy & Randy the morning of opening night for the Hawks. The Hawks host the Houston Rockets tonight at 7:30pm at State Farm Arena with pregame coverage on 92.9 The Game beginning at 7:00pm. You can hear every Hawks game on 92.9 The Game throughout the season.

After talking to Fields about De’Andre Hunter’s new contract and handful of other topics, Andy & Randy asked Fields about which players will pop this year and may be surprise to fans outside of Dejounte Murray who is already an All-Star caliber player.

“Well this year Jalen Johnson is going to see a bigger role based off of last year.
With his size and his talent and playmaking ability I think he is a guy that fans should definitely be aware of and watching him as he kind of moves into our backup 4 at this point,” Fields replied when asked who fans should be looking out for outside of Dejounte Murray (and Trae Young obviously).

As a rookie Jalen Johnson averaged the following per game: 5.5 minutes, 2.4 points and 1.2 rebounds so the Hawks are looking for him to take a big leap during his second season.

Fields went on to talk about a few other names fans should be aware of as the Hawks gear up for the 2022-2023 season.

You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
