Under Kirby Smart, the Bulldogs have grown to be the premier powerhouse of college football. The key reason, recruiting. The Bulldogs have boasted a top-five recruiting class every year since 2017. Reloading has become a calling card for Kirby Smart. This signing period was no exception.
One of the jewels of the recruiting class is DT Jamaal Jarrett. A four-star recruit who is already drawing comparisons to a former great Bulldog, first-round pick Jordan Davis.
The Grimsley High School product measures out ay 6'6" and 355 pounds, while running a 5.25 40-yard dash. Jarrett certainly has the physical traits to be just as much of a force for UGA as Jordan Davis was.
The Greensboro native also received offers from Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, and Texas A&M. Ultimately the defending national champs won out on the sweepstakes for "Jah".
High expectations will be set for the young man, as he is set to follow in the footsteps of players like Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, and Jalen Carter. Those are some large shoes to fill, but clearly filling shoes has not been a problem for Jamaal Jarrett.
