According to one reporter, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is in the best shape of his career.

Ryan Burr, who has worked for NBC Sports, ESPN and Fox Sports Pittsburgh (now AT&T Sportsnet) says that Roethlisberger’s camp is telling him that rumors that he does “yoga class & then has a beer is just wrong.”

Burr adds that Ben’s camp tells him the QB has been focused on weight loss since the end of the season and that “his diet is stricter than (Tom) Brady.”

When it comes to his arm, that was surgically repaired two years ago, a source says, Ben is more likely to win his first league MVP than finish outside the top 10 in passing.

“Ben will never mention the beating he has taken in the media but says from a dedication standpoint has never seen anything from Ben close to this in past,” the source tells Burr.

Burr says he has covered Roethlisberger since Ben was in high school and has seen him go through several transformations.

After college and being drafted by the Steelers Burr says Roethlisberger was associated with “motorcycle, booze women,” but “then he married, was forced to settle down. But the narrative of beer guzzling lazy Ben never went away.”

Burr has said this offseason that he expects Roethlisberger to have a better 2021 than many people believe that that his past issued are long gone off the field.

“Listen I have seen the total A-hole Ben. I have seen the unprepared out of shape Ben. I am told for what it’s worth those former Ben’s have been buried in a grave.”
