The Steelers have a new quarterback in Mitch Trubisky.
It’s believed Trubisky signed with the Steelers under the intention that he will be the starter when the 2022 season begins.
Well, after that move new odds show the Steelers have a worse shot of winning the Super Bowl after the move.
FanDuel had the Steelers’ odds at 55/1 before the signing. Now it’s at 70/1.
That just shows how little odds makers and others feel about Trubisky.
It’s rare that a team improves their current quarterback and their odds go down, but it also happened last week.
After trading for Carson Wentz from the Indianapolis Colts, the Washington Commanders odds fell from 60/1 to 75/1.
NFL Insider John Clayton told the PM Team last week before Trubisky signed. “his stock went up, even though he has no stock.”
“I thought he proved in Chicago that he’s not good enough to win, now with his stock going up, it’s not going to change who Mitch Trubisky is,” said Clayton. “Other teams are starting to pump up the idea of Mitch.”
Clayton say Trubisky wasn’t even worth a roll of the dice.
Trubisky, taken 2nd overall by the Chicago Bears in 2017, is 29-21 in his career with 64 touchdowns and 38 interceptions with 10,652 passing yards.
Labeled by some a draft bust because of his inconsistent play, Trubisky signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills to be Josh Allen’s backup quarterback in 2021.
Trubisky signed a $2 million deal with Buffalo last year. No word on the financial details of Trubisky signing with Pittsburgh.
