The Boston Celtics have reportedly engaged in talks to acquire Ben Simmons from the Philadelphia 76ers, according to The Athletic.

Talks have reportedly been "fluid" and there hasn't been a ton of traction yet, as the Sixers want Jaylen Brown in return.
The Celtics are off to a 4-6 start and have dealt with some controversy around the current roster, as Marcus Smart made comments about Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum taking all of the shots.
Brown, like Simmons, is 25-years-old and would fit nicely on the Sixers, giving them that iso wing scorer they've been desiring for years to pair with Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris.
Brown, who was named to his first All-Star team last season, is averaging a career 25.6 points while shooting 39.7% from three this season.
For Boston, pairing Simmons—a pass first, defensive, transitional player—with a pure scorer in Tatum may also make sense, assuming they are willing to split up the Brown-Tatum tandem.
Shams Charania reports Simmons has now provided the Sixers with names of his mental health professionals.
Charania reported later on Monday that Brown will miss 1-2 weeks with a hamstring injury.
