As far as conspiracy theories go, this one may take the cake. Or the snow.

A new conspiracy, which has originated on TikTok, claims that all the snow and winter weather Texas experienced last week was all fake. It was the result of a simulation, either by aliens, or by the work of the government to protect the "wealthy elite."

We're not kidding.

Per Yahoo!, this isn't some grand conspiracy hatched by aliens or anything, it's just plain ol' science.

Astronomer and science blogger Phil Plait explained in a 2014 article on Slate's Bad Astronomy blog that snow disappears by turning into vapor, as opposed to becoming just a puddle of rainwater. He wrote, "To summarize, two things happen: One is that as the snow melts, the remaining snow absorbs the water. That’s why it doesn’t appear to drip; the snowball becomes a slushball."

He even recorded a video in response to a 2014 theory in Georgia that their snow was also faked by the government!
