22-year-old David Perkins of Leesburg, Florida and 21-year-old Skylar Jacobson of Henrietta, Texas were visiting Key West, Florida when they found themselves in a little bit of trouble.

Hey it's Key West, it was bound to happen.

The pair of gentlemen were drinking at a bar called Irish Kevin's before they made their way to a popular tourist attraction, a 12-foot-tall, concrete buoy that marks the southernmost point in the continental United States.

The pair happened to find an old, discarded Christmas tree someone left on the street, and thought it'd be fun to set it on fire. The arson caused over $5,000 in damage to the landmark.

The police were able to identify Perkins and Jacobson as the culprits though, thanks to a man named Cameron Briody, a bartender at Irish Kevin's who recognized the men for not tipping!

He relayed the information to the police, which led to Perkins surrendering himself to the authorities, with a promise from Jacobson that he would soon do the same.

The concrete buoy has already been restored. According to Fox 13, both men are facing charges for criminal mischief with damages over $1,000.
