The Steelers, Pirates and Penguins are teaming up to take on vaccine hesitancy.
Representatives from the teams were on a zoom call with local health leaders, Acting State Secretary of Health Alison Beam and Senator Bob Casey, each of them touching on what increased vaccinations can do for stadium capacity.
Marci McGovern from the Pirates said they've collaborated with the Steelers and Penguins to create safe game experiences for fans.
"They worked with us to share what they've learned through opening their facilities for fans and allowed our planning teams to walk their venues and see how they set things up," she said.
The Pirates say they're making plans for more fans once COVID restrictions in the state are lifted on May 31st.
Steelers VP of Stadium Operations and Management Jimmy Sacco says vaccinated Pittsburghers mean crowded stadiums.
"The quicker we get everyone vaccinated, the quicker we're going to have people at the all three of our venues," he said "We just want to keep our families and friends and fans safe and get back to normal."
The state says it will remove its mask mandate when 70 percent of Pennsylvania adults are fully vaccinated.
