The COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread thin thousands of small businesses throughout the Commonwealth.

Meanwhile, an extra $145 million intended to go towards small business relief sits unused in the State's general fund.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf today urged lawmakers to focus on the state.

"This pandemic has brought us many challenges, but we have the means in front of us to help Pennsylvanians overcome one of those challenges," Gov. Wolf said. "We all need the Republican-led General Assembly to step up and do their part. Republican leaders have failed to act thus far and that has to change. They need to act quickly because businesses need this help now."

Wolf said the funds would especially help out restaurants and bars and that have been hammered by the pandemic and delaying the decision, especially when the funds are already available, only hurts Pennsylvanians.

"So I urge Republican leaders in the general assembly to commit to themselves to working with us together to get this money into the hands of the businesses that need it," said Wolf.
