We are exactly two weeks away from Thanksgiving, which it means it's time you probably start thinking about your turkey.
No doubt cooking that preparing and cooking that bird can be tricky as best, and if you're not a seasoned Turkey Day veteran, you might run into some trouble, and a ruined turkey or two.
That's why we have to give thanks to Whole Foods and Progressive Insurance.
The companies have partnered together to offer, for the first time ever, insurance for your Thanksgiving turkey! The insurance offers patrons a $35 Whole Foods gift card for anyone who commits a "turkey cooking fail," reports ABC 7.
Theo Weening, vice president of meat and poultry at Whole Foods, said in a statement, "As we anticipate more smaller Thanksgiving gatherings and first-time cooks tackling turkey preparation this year, the Thanksgiving Turkey Protection Plan allows customers the freedom of culinary exploration, knowing all is not lost should their cooking go astray."
To qualify for the turkey insurance, all it appears you need to do is purchase a turkey at Whole Foods between November 11 and 22. If the cooked bird ends up overcooked, undercooked, burnt or dry, you can submit a claim with a receipt, a brief explanation, and a picture to a special website.
The promotion is limited to 1,000 customers, and entries must be submitted beginning on Thanksgiving day through the following day at 2a.m.
