The helicopter was responding to a call by L.A. County Fire to help someone who was injured after their car rolled over, the Los Angeles Times reported.
It is unclear what exactly caused the helicopter to malfunction.

All six people aboard the helicopter had to be extricated and were taken to Pomona Valley Hospital, City News Service said. One was said to be in critical condition, while two had moderate injuries, two suffered minor injuries and one was in unknown condition.

L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the six onboard are expected to recover.

“They are in stable condition, some more banged up than others, but thankful to be alive,” he told the L.A. Times.
