The California Republican Party is reportedly reconsidering its opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage.

A proposal by a party committee made in late July said it supports “traditional family values”, but removed language that said a marriage must be defined as a union between man and woman, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The proposal also removed language that criticized supporting access to abortion but urged adoption being an “alternative” to the procedure.

The amendment will be voted on during the California GOP convention in Anaheim from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1. Presidential candidates including former President Donald, Gov. Ron DeSantis, and Sen. Tim Scott, are set to attend.
