LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles City Councilmember Nithya Raman, who represents District 4, revealed Tuesday she had tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
The news followed on the heels of L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger revealing a diagnosis on Wednesday.
The councilmember had been fully vaccinated and received a booster shot against COVID-19, Raman said. “I know my case would be worse otherwise,” she said.
All councilmembers will revert to online-only meetings in January amid a surge in COVID-19 cases fueled by the fast-spreading Omicron variant.
