LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A man was in critical condition Saturday after being shot and stabbed outside a nightlub in Hollywood in the early hours of the morning.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Western Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. where they found a man believed to be in his early 20s who had been stabbed and was suffering from a gunshot wound.
An LAPD spokesperson said the victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses told investigators that a large crowd had gathered outside a nearby nightlife venue where the victim was allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with one or more suspects. At some point, the argument escalated, and the unnamed victim was shot and stabbed.
No suspect description was available Saturday, and the LAPD had not confirmed whether any arrests were made.
