Starting today, everyone age 50 and older is eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine in California. But officials are urging people to be patient as millions more residents qualify for an appointment, because the supply of doses from the federal government is limited in some areas.
LA County officials estimate they have the capacity to administer 700,000 vaccine doses per week, but supplies so far have failed to reach that level.
Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer says she's hopeful those numbers will be going up very soon.
LA County expanded its eligibility list recently: Among those most recently added to the list of people who can get shots: gardeners, landscapers, nannies and house cleaners, who work more than 20 hours a week.

More good news on the horizon: beginning April 15, those ages 16 year-old and older will be eligible in LA County and in California.
