LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Los Angeles mayoral candidate Rick Caruso received endorsements Tuesday from rapper Snoop Dogg and Watts-based community organizer and activist “Sweet Alice” Harris.

“(Caruso's) gonna get to be mayor and I’m gonna still work with him,” Harris told a group of reporters.

Caruso posted a video of him with Harris on a video call with the “Gin and Juice” rapper on Twitter.

During the call, Snoop praised Harris and Caruso, saying he only endorses “the real.”

“This is what a mayor’s gotta be about. You can’t be about talking about it, you gotta be about it, you gotta really have your foot in the turf, you gotta really be about the community and (Harris) is the community and he’s standing by her side for 40 years,” Snoop said. “It’s no question. I endorse the real and that is Rick.”

Snoop and Harris aren’t the only big names throwing their support behind Caruso. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, actress-business woman Gwyneth Paltrow and music producer Scooter Braun are also supporting Caruso, according to The Los Angeles Times.

L.A. City Councilman and former mayoral candidate Joe Buscaino – who dropped out of the race last week – also voiced his support for Caruso.
