South L.A. Taco Bell employee shot and killed at drive-thru

LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Los Angeles police are investigating a shooting that left a South Los Angeles Taco Bell employee dead Saturday evening.

Police responded to the 9900 block of Avalon Boulevard just before 11 p.m., Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division told City New Service.

When one of the male suspects tried to pay for the food with counterfeit money at the drive-thru, according to CBS LA. When the employee refused to accept the fake money, the suspect shot the employee multiple times.

The employee was described as a 41-year-old man.

The suspects were described as being between 20 to 25 years old, ABC 7 said.
