COAHCELLA (CNS) - Authorities sought public help Friday in gathering additional information on a car-to-car shooting in Coachella that left a teenage boy injured.
Deputies from the Thermal sheriff's station responded around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 52000 block of Cesar Chavez Street to a report of a shooting between two vehicles, according to Sgt. David Koedyker of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
"One vehicle, a silver Honda Civic, crashed as a result of the shooting," Koedyker said in a statement. "The driver, a male juvenile, was found with several gunshot wounds and was flown to a local trauma center where he is currently being treated for his injuries."
Two unidentified people ran from the car after it crashed, according to Koedyker. One of the individuals is believed to have also been injured by a gunshot.
Anyone with additional information on the car-to-car shooting was asked to call Investigator Glasper of the Thermal sheriff's station at 760-863-8950 or Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at 760-341-7867 (STOP).
