WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Two men were fatally shot in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles Wednesday morning during what police are saying might have been a dispute at a gathering.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call regarding a person down at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday near Sixth Street and Westlake Boulevard and found three victims with gunshot wounds, LAPD Officer Melissa Podany told City News Service.

Police found two toddlers in a white sedan near the scene and took them into protective custody.

All three victims were taken to a hospital, where two men were pronounced dead.

The condition and gender of the third victim was not immediately known.

A woman was found in a car involved in a collision near the scene and was being questioned by police.

Podany said police are investigating the motive for the shootings.
