
VENTURA, Calif. (KNX) — The Ventura County Fair is returning this Wednesday after being postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fair opens on Wednesday, Aug. 3, and will run through Aug. 14.

"Returning after the 2-year postponement, this year's fair, with the tagline ''VC Fair Rides Again,' is a celebration of Ventura County's creativity, tradition, and resilience," organizers said. "The Fair will bring back unique exhibits, exciting contests, and top-of-the-line Grandstand Entertainment performances, free with Fair admission."
The fair will open with "Dollar Day" on Aug. 3, offering $1 admission until 5 p.m.
"Kids' Day" is Fri., Aug. 5, so children under 12 get in free all day. Seniors (65+) and persons with disabilities can enjoy the park free all day on Tues., Aug. 9.
On "Military Appreciation Day," Thurs., Aug. 11, the park offers all military personnel holding a current, valid military identification free admission.
Carnival Wristband Days also return this year. On Aug. 4, 8, 9, and 11, purchase a $40 wristband before 6 p.m. for unlimited carnival rides until 7 p.m.
This year's Grandstand Entertainment features Marina McBride on Aug. 3, KC and the Sunshine Band on Aug. 4, The All-American Rejects on Aug. 5, and Blue Oyster Cult on Aug. 6. The La Arrolladora Banda Limon, Los Parras, and Jesus Ojeda perform on Aug. 7. Then, The Beach Boys with Special Guest John Stamos hit the stage on Aug. 8, followed by Clay Walker on Aug. 9, and Cheap Trick on Aug. 10.
