Felt was waiting at the stoplight behind the wheel of a mid-size SUV when an unknown assailant fired several rounds into the car. She was able to drive a short distance to a nearby convenience store, where authorities were called and from which she was transported to a hospital.

She later died from her injuries, authorities said.

Felt reportedly had a passenger with her at the time of the shooting. The passenger told CBS L.A. that she believed the shooter approached Felt’s car on foot before opening fire.

No arrests have been reported in connection with the incident. An investigation is ongoing, though authorities have not released a suspect description.

Anyone with information related to the shooting has been asked to call the L.A. County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Tipsters wishing to remain anonymous may call the L.A. Regional Crime Stopper at (800) 222-8477.
