“I want to press charges against my father today,” Spears told a judge, fighting back the tears. “I want an investigation into my dad.”

Spears described the conservatorship as “f-----g cruelty.” She detailed how her decision-making is severely limited, including whether to drink coffee.
“If this isn’t abuse, I don’t know what is,” Britney said. “I thought they were trying to kill me.”
Jamie Spears has managed Britney's estate since 2008. He was also responsible for decisions regarding her "person" until a court-appointed representative took over in 2019.
The Los Angeles judge allowed the court-appointed lawyer representing Britney to resign and approved the singer’s request to hire her own attorney. Britney has told the court she wants to end the conservatorship.
Britney posted a video to Twitter Wednesday night “doing cartwheels” to celebrate. Her next court hearing is scheduled for September.
