Earlier this month, officials at Caney Creek High School, about 45 miles north of Houston, Texas revealed that one student had confessed to using an “intense fart spray” as part of a senior prank.
The spray ended up sending six other students to an area hospital.
The school was sure that an investigation would lead them to another guilty party, and that hunch has been confirmed.
According to The Courier of Montgomery County, following an investigation police arrested David Navarrete-Arce, 17, and Diego Flores, 18 for their roles in the prank. Both face charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, which is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
The spray used in the prank is available for purchase online, where hundreds of reviews contain warnings that it should only be used with gloves and a mask. The company states the spray is “made with non-toxic and non-flammable ingredients.”
Caney Creek Fire Department Chief Ray Flannely said his department responded on both days and had hazmat teams for Conroe Fire Department and The Woodlands Fire Department check the school. "A lot of resources are tied up on incidents like these," he said.
Both teens were released from jail on a $3,000 bond.
