An affidavit obtained by the Laramie Boomerang revealed that Fulton told police he and his girlfriend were at a bar when they met with victim. Fulton’s girlfriend reportedly confirmed this, and said the victim tried to make a sexual pass at her but when confronted by Fulton then apologized.

When she and Fulton went to their hotel room, Fulton stepped out at which point the victim appeared and tried to sexually assault her at knife point. When Fulton came back, a fight ensued between the two men and Fulton shot him.

“If your girlfriend would have gotten raped you would have killed him too,” Fulton told police, according to the newspaper.

Fulton was in the parking lot of the hotel at the time of his arrest. An investigation later revealed Fulton purchased “multiple saws and a box of trash bags.”

Fulton is being held at the Albany County Detention Center on $1 million bond. Officials said the girlfriend was not charged in the case.
