Sacramento tennis coach accused of sexual acts with child

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KNX) — Deputies in Sacramento County arrested a former professional tennis player and private tennis coach for sexual offenses against a child.

Kasparas Zemaitelis, 26, was arrested Tuesday on 10 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said. He was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail with $10,000,000 bail.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s department told KCRA, only one victim, identified as a 15-year-old girl, has come forward.

Since 2019, Zemaitelis worked as a private tennis coach to minors in the Sacramento area. Prior to being a coach, he played in professional tennis matches and played on the men’s tennis team at Sacramento State.

He has a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday.

This is an ongoing investigation.
