SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KNX) – Surfers at Tourmaline Surfing Park in San Diego weren’t the only ones enjoying the waves.

A baby seal was spotted hanging out with surfers over the weekend and on Tuesday.

Photos and video taken by Ed Hartel and shared on his Instagram page, dronedudeed, show the seal catching some waves while riding on the surfboards.

"Basically, he swims from board to board jumping on different surfers' boards," Hartel told CBS 8. "He'll sit there for five to 10 minutes and then paddle to another surfer's board and he does it all morning long,"

It's believed the baby seal is an orphan.

KCAL reported that SeaWorld and city officials did check out the seal after being contacted about it; however, they left the seal alone as it seemed to be doing ok.
