It was announced on Thursday that Dallas and AT&T Stadium would be one of the host cities for World Cup soccer matches in 2026, while the Cotton Bowl could act as a training location for a team.
And Dallas isn't the only Texas city set to host games in 2024, with Houston and NRG Stadium also selected.
Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Guadalajara, Kansas City, Atlanta, Monterrey, Mexico City, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, and New York/New Jersey also made the cut.
It was announced that the tournament would be held across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico in 2015. It will be the first time that the competition will consist of 48 teams for the first time.
This will mark a record third occasion that Mexico has hosted the World Cup. It will be the second time for the U.S. and the first for Canada.
The 2022 World Cup will take place in Qatar later this year before heading to North America next time around.
