The jury in the capital murder trial of accused serial killer Billy Chemirmir is expected to learn about a fourth victim on Day 3.

Prosecutors are planning to present evidence in the death of Martha Williams. While this trial is about the murder of Mary Brooks, the prosecution is explaining how Chemirmir stalked and then murdered, elderly victims.

Part of that strategy was to explain the death of Chemirmir's final victim. Dallas police officer Steven Cazzelle helped break down Lu Thi Harris' door.

Dallas County Medical Examiner Doctor Jeffrey Barnard told the jury that his office was forced to re-open the case of Mary Brooks after the 2018 arrest of accused serial killer Billy Chemirmir. At first, Brooks’ death in January of 2018 was ruled due to natural causes. But Barnard said after police learned Chemirmir had smothered another woman, his office took a second look at Brooks and found that she had also been smothered. Chemirmir has already been convicted of one capital murder. This case is to ensure he never gets out of prison again.

In the afternoon of Day 2, the trial moved to the day Chemirmir was arrested. Plano police say they were told Chemirmir was a suspect in at least one murder and a second attack. Detective Bill Knight was part of a team that put Chemirmir’s apartment complex under surveillance. He saw Chemirmir drive into the parking lot and park at a dumpster.

"And at some point he looked at me and I was like 'okay, this is Mr Chemirmir, this is the guy that we're looking for," said Knight during his testimony.

The evidence is expected to show that relatives realized that it was not natural death when Brooks' possessions were missing. Chemirmir is already serving life without parole.
