The race for a vacant seat on the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees wasn't even close.

Out of 9,404 votes cast, Andrew Yeager defeated Stephanie Williams by nearly two-to-one to win the special election for the vacant Place 7 seat.
Yeager had 6,150 votes, compared to 3,254 for Williams.
Yeager had built up a lead in early voting so big that even if every ballot cast on Election Day went for Williams, Yeager still would have won.
Yeager had the backing of the conservative Southlake Families PAC, and he ran in opposition to the district's proposed Cultural Competence Action Plan.
The school board put that in place in response to a racist video that went viral in 2018, but it had been on hold after Southlake Families PAC filed a lawsuit to prevent its implementation.
Now that trustees backed by Southlake Families PAC will hold a 4-3 majority on the school board, the diversity plan appears destined to be killed off.
