Our App today is called Autio. More people say they're choosing road trips, when they go on vacation. This app can tell you about the places that you're visiting when you're on the road.
Kevin Costner worked with a team of experts to put this app together. It uses your GPS to tell you interesting stories about the people and places that you're driving through. It's similar to audio tours that you get at museums. Only the museum is the open road.
Each story only runs about 3 minutes so you can learn something while you're driving or riding. It can tell you how a town got its name or what's the story about that mountain you're seeing. It has more than 10 thousand stories in the app. Autio is also working with the Texas State Historical Society to add hundreds of stories about Texas. You can choose the kinds of stories you get. History, culture, music, sports, or special interests.
Autio is constantly growing in content. It's free on iTunes. It has a subscription model.
