We're waking up to temperatures back in the mid-to-upper 70s with a ton of humidity. No rain is currently on radar in north Texas, but I'm going to keep an eye on a complex of storms now moving into the Texas Panhandle that will be moving southeast through the late morning and early afternoon.
It's not out of the question that parts of north Texas may see some scattered showers and storms between about 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Best chances will be along and north of Highway 380. Afternoon highs will reach the middle 90s again with heat index values close to 100 degrees.
Unfortunately, today is the only chance of rain over the next seven days, as an area of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere dominates our weather.
We will start tomorrow off in the mid-to-upper 70s once again with daytime highs in the mid-90s. The wind will shift to the southwest on Friday warming us up to near record highs. The record high temperature on Friday is 101 degrees.
A weak cold front will back into the area late Friday night dropping temperatures back into the mid-90s on Saturday, but we'll quickly warm back up to near 100 degrees on Sunday.
More of the same is expected next week with morning lows near 80°, afternoon highs will be flirting with the century mark. At least there'll be some wind to cool you off in the shade.
