
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for four suspects in the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy, who was killed during an attempted robbery while he was walking to school Tuesday morning.
Around 7:30 that morning, near 16th Street and Hunting Park Avenue, police said 15-year-old Devin Weedon was jumped by a group of males. They got into a physical altercation, and the teen was shot in the chest.
The Philadelphia Police Department released surveillance footage that shows at least one suspect brandishing a gun while walking behind the victim on the sidewalk. The four suspects fled after the teen was shot.
Weedon was a sophomore at Simon Gratz High School Mastery Charter.
Police said the suspects were all dressed in black and wore masks to cover their faces.
The department said they are considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees them should call 911.
