SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — The massive wildfire near the Jersey Shore that burned through more than 600 acres is now 100% contained.
Residents will still see smoke in the area, officials say. Crews will remain on site.
No structures were damaged amid the fires, and there were no reported injuries.
The fire broke out Sunday afternoon at the Bass River State Forest in Little Egg Harbor Township near Route 9, a main road that connects many shore towns.
However, officials say another large wildfire that started Monday night, at Brendan T. Byrne State Forest in Burlington County, is 50% contained. The affected area spans more than 400 acres.
The cause of each fire is still being investigated.
