The Surreal Garden comes from the annual Surreal series created by the Ion Art team lead by Sharon & Greg Keshishian. It will combine neon with nature for a stunning interactive art event in the Zilker Botanical Garden for an amazing experience in Austin. There will be 6 evening soireés the last two weekends of April to enjoy over 100 pieces of neon art, interactive sculptures, surreal performance, music, costumes, local-favorite food, craft cocktails, and lots more!
The Surreal Garden kicks off Thursday, April 21 with a VIP Night to enjoy food tastings, cocktails, live DJ, surreal performers, unlimited photo ops and more surprises! Surreal or botanical-themed costumes are encouraged, or semi-formal / cocktail attire. A portion of the proceeds benefit Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy, a non-profit that supports the Garden. Team Audacy Austin's 1Day 1Thing gives a helping hand and support to the Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy, a non-profit that helps keep a 'Jewel in Austin' the Zilker Botanical Garden thriving. It's managed with a partnership of Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy (ZGBC) with the City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department (PARD). An agreement and partnership between the Conservancy and the Austin Area Garden Council brings the resources of 30 garden clubs. All working together to help maintain and preserve the 28 acres of gardens, pathways, streams, ponds and urban oasis shaded hideaways with thousands of native and cultivated plants creating the Zilker Botanical Garden. Inviting over 300,000 visitors a year from Austin and beyond.
Thanks to Ion Art for their passion and purpose in helping Zilker Botanical Garden with the debut of the Surreal Garden. A local company founded by the husband and wife team Greg and Sharon Keshishian, who started in 1986 with plans to sell neon art.
