HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- The Astros received a bit of good news on Tuesday when the results of the MRI taken on Blake Taylor's left elbow only revealed inflammation, so while he'll be off the mound for an unknown amount of time, he avoided anything serious.

"Structurally everything looks pretty good," Astros general manager James Click said. "We just need to let everything calm down. He’ll no-throw for a week or two. We’re gonna do a day-to-day assessment."

Taylor left his outing on Friday night in Kansas City after just nine pitches and there was a fear that he had suffered a serious injury, but those fears seem to have been alleviated.

"It looks like we might have dodged a bullet,” Astros manager Dusty Baker said.

In 19 appearances this season, Taylor, 26, has compiled a 3.94 ERA in 16 innings. The lefty underwent Tommy John Surgery in 2015 as a member of the New York Mets organization.
