One of the major storylines going into Texans training camp was the competition for the No. 2 outside cornerback opposite of Derek Stingley Jr., and how rookie second-round pick Kamari Lassiter had appeared to grab the reins early from OTAs and minicamp.
Lassiter is competing with veterans like Jeff Okudah and C.J. Henderson for the spot, but early signs point to the rookie being the favorite. You can tell by how teammates and coaches talk about him. They already respect his competitiveness and ability.
Then there's this clip from Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans, celebrating Lassiter after finishing a rep at Tuesday's practice. It doesn't necessarily mean he's winning that job, but you can sure bet that someone who competes in practice to generate this kind of response is definitely going to see the field.
