Nico Collins talks learning new Texans' offense

The Texans are in the beginning stages of installing their new offense under first-year offensive coordinator Nick Caley.

That means new terminology and new concepts for their players, like Pro Bowl wide receiver Nico Collins. After the first day of voluntary practices Wednesday, the fifth-year wideout talked about picking up on the new details.

“That’s what we’re here for here OTAs around this time," Collins said. "This is where we learn the offense and learn the little things – football. This is where we find the little things that we need to work on and work on our craft so Sundays are easy. I’m glad that Nick Caley is here. He is dicing things up right now. For the offense, we have to continue to slow it down and learn it, so that we can go out there and operate and have fun doing it.”

“Nick is a playmaker man," Collins added when asked about Caley's philosophy. "He knows how to get the playmakers the ball – great situation, so I can’t wait to really get going on Sunday’s and for the offense to keep clicking. Right now we’re in the learning stage. New offense, new words, new terminology, so we have to digest that but once we do that man we’re clicking.”
