The Junkies debate Jason Wright's comments on ticket sales increasing and fans returning to FedEx Field

Commanders team president Jason Wright was on CNBC this week, discussing when he learned about the sale of the team and what the announcement has meant to ticket sales for the coming season, and this is what he had to say:

“There’s anticipation of this franchise returning to what it once was, and people are willing to jump back into business with us – and we’ve built an organization that can handle that momentum.”

It seems like momentum is indeed back, as Wright also said pre-sales of suites have already matched what they do in a normal season, and the Junkies understand.

“It makes sense,” EB said. “Think about how crazy excited people were about buying tickets again!”

“Maybe people who looked at the price tag of a suite the last couple years and didn’t want to spend the money on an inferior product under Daniel Snyder’s watch,” Cakes shot back.

JP wonders what the “regular people who haven’t gone for years” will actually go back once the sale is official, or if it will take sustained winning to bring them back.

“The first game back at FedEx post-Dan Snyder…I think it’s going to be packed to the top as a referendum on Snyder,” Cakes said.

“I’m so beaten down, my expectations are lower – I think we’ll see sustained increased attendance, but I don’t think we’ll see a sell-out until there’s winning,” EB replied.

What do you think – will the sale bring people back? Listen to the entire Junkies convo above, and let us know what you think!
