On the ninth day of the trial in Charlotte, NASCAR has settled the antitrust lawsuit filed by racing team owners Michael Jordan and Bob Jenkins.

ASCAR has agreed to grant permanent charters to all of the team owners, something CEO Jim France had testified would threaten the financial future of the organization his father founded in 1948.

The settlement was announced Thursday shortly after attorneys for both sides asked for a delay in the defense testimony which had been scheduled to continue today.

An economist had testified that NASCAR owes Jordan's 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports owned by Bob Jenkins nearly 365 million dollars in damages.

The economist also said NASCAR's antitrust practices had shortchanged all the teams more than a billion from 2021 through 2024. No settlement terms on that have been disclosed.
