Newberry Football is now in the NCAA DII National Quarterfinals and is one away from the National Semifinals. The Wolves advanced after a 24-17 win Saturday at West Florida in the 2nd round.
Newberry got to the 2nd round after an opening round home win over Kentucky State, 45-24. Former Brookland-Cayce Standout Reed Charpie leads the Newberry offense. The Grad Student QB threw for over 400 yards and two Touchdowns in the win over West Florida.
Newberry is now 11-1 on the season. The 11 wins ties the most single season wins in program history. The Wolves are also 7-0 on the season in one score games.
Newberry will travel to take on Albany State, Saturday with a spot in the National Semifinals on the line.
