Slow start does 'Dins in during 45-10 loss at Clemson

Furman managed just three points int he 1st half of their 45-10 loss at Clemson, Saturday. The Tigers started strong scoring 17 1st quarter points, after a Nolan Hauser FG, a Cade Klubnik TD pass to Antonio Williams and a Tyler Brown TD run.

Clemson took a 17-0 lead into the 2nd quarter. They then got a 2nd TD catch from Antonio Williams to go up 24-0. Back up QB Chris Vizzina then came in and threw a TD pass to Christian Betancur to make it 31-0, Clemson.

Furman finally got on the board with a 49 yard FG from Ian Williams right before the half, that made it 31-3 Clemson at the break. In the 3rd quarter, Furman got their lone TD of the game when Trey Hedden found Evan James from 19 yards at. Clemson then took a 31-10 lead after the 3rd.

Clemson Freshman QB Chris Denson then came in for "mop up duty" in the 4th. He had a TD pass and a TD run in the final frame to make the final 45-10.

Clemson now moves to 6-5 on the season and are now bowl eligible. The Tigers will close the regular season in the Palmetto Bowl at South Carolina, Saturday at noon. With the loss, Furman finishes their season at 6-6.
