The BMitch and Finlay show put up a poll on Friday asking fans what the biggest roster hole for the Commanders was, excluding the questions at quarterback.
There were some widespread answers on social media, but in the studio, the answer was unanimous: the offensive line needs work.
“There are people that are really worked up about the tight end position…another dude says linebacker,” Finlay said. “I think the o-line situation is gonna be fascinating when we get to the draft.”
So, what is the best route for Washington to fill that void? Finlay says it will likely happen at the NFL Draft, and named a few candidates that the Commanders could covet.
“When you get to the draft, there are a pair of tackles that have really emerged,” Finlay said. “[Peter] Skoronski is the consensus top tackle, the Northwester kid, next is Paris Johnson, the big fella from Ohio State, a big kid that can move. Then there’s a bit of a drop. If you like Broderick Jones, who is a really talented, big athlete out of Georgia. Or you could trade back and get the best interior guy on the board, probably the kid [Joe] Tippman out of Wisconsin. More and more, I think that scenario could make sense.”
