News broke Tuesday that Terry McLaurin had signed a massive three-year extension with the Commanders, and you can get their live reaction below.

Later in the show, the boys got a surprise call on the listener line: Commanders defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, aka “Jon in Ashburn,” who called the show in the middle of a round of golf to let everyone know how happy he was for McLaurin – and the message the extension sends to the team.

“Man, I’m fired up. When a guy like Terry gets paid, it just restores faith that the team will reward guys who do it the right way, and there’s no better example than Terry,” Allen said. “For a guy like him to get paid, that means a lot to a lot of guys in that locker room, and we’re all fired up right now.”

Allen, who got his big contract last year, said he didn’t do any lobbying to or for McLaurin – because it was not needed.

“Everything he’s done on and off the field speaks for itself – there’s a reason he’s getting paid what he is,” Allen said. “It show him the value he brought to the team on and off the field. When you have a guy as good and as humble as him, you don’t let guys like that leave the building. Glad he can come back and help us win football games.”

McLaurin has been the undisputed No. 1 receiver in DC for his first three seasons, and from a defensive perspective, Allen says having him, and keeping him, in the fold is nothing but good for the Commanders.

“We all know that when he’s on the field, we can score at any moment from anywhere on the field,” Allen said. “When you have a weapon like that, that’s special, and it gives you a better chance to win.”
