With training camp beginning in under three weeks, how good is the Washington Commanders roster? Well, according to ESPN's Mike Clay and Seth Walder, who ranked all 32 NFL teams' squads ahead of the season, Ron Rivera's team is in the bottom quarter of the league.

Yes, the Commanders were ranked at No. 24, one spot ahead of the Carolina Panthers and one spot behind the Green Bay Packers. Craig Hoffman did not agree with the ESPN lists and had several suggestions for quite a few teams that he believes do not have as good of a roster as Washington.

Clay and Walder note that Washington's strongest unit, as expected is their defensive line. The weakest unit is, as expected, was quarterback with Clay noting "Washington seems to have an eyebrow-raising amount of confidence in Sam Howell" who perhaps is the Commanders' "diamond in the rough, but he's an unknown." And the X factor for the season is, unsurprisingly, Chase Young.

For Hoffman, if teams have something "elite" on their roster, that is what separates them from all the rest, and that's where "the Commanders are ranked waaaaaayyyyyy too low."

Among the NFC East, Philadelphia was ranked No. 2 (Kansas City was one), Dallas at No. 6 (who Hoffman said is ranked much too high and "ridiculous" with running back Tony Pollard entering the season as the most overrated player entering the season), and the New York Giants at No. 18.
