Melanie Coburn, the former Washington cheerleader and the director of marketing for the team's cheerleading program for several years, who has been at the forefront of the push to get the NFL to release the full report from Beth Wilkerson spoke to The Team 980's Craig Hoffman after the latest ESPN report about the actions of Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder.
Last week, the law firm representing the Commanders went on the offensive by sending a nine-page letter to the House Oversight Committee in which they raised numerous “concerns” with the committee’s work, attempted to shift blame away from Snyder and onto Bruce Allen, and named Melanie Coburn directly.

However, Coburn has remained determined to continue to push for "transparency and accountability" and "turned down hush money in 2021."
The letter from the Commanders' attorney accused Coburn of being "one of the key individuals pushing the 'sexualization' of the cheerleaders" and said accused her of "belittling the concerns of the wife of a member of the U.S. military, who objected to inappropriate sexual advances made towards her husband while he was deployed in a combat area."
Coburn called those claims "complete lies."
"Last week, was, obviously, very hurtful, but also to me very obvious that they are just attacking us," she told Hoffman. "It's a form of intimidation, it's exactly why people don't come forward against Dan Snyder, it's historically what he's done."
Corburn has become one of the most vocal advocates hoping to deliver some measure of justice to the many victims of the team's toxic workplace culture and numerous victims of sexual harassment during Snyder's ownership.
