The Washington Commanders have a huge day ahead of them on Thursday – the day after reports that the No. 2 overall pick from 2020 would not have his fifth-year option picked up – adds some extra pressure to nail their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
And offensive tackle Darnell Wright out of Tennessee could be the guy, or he might not be. As Michael Phillips of the Richmond Times-Dispatch discussed with Kevin Sheehan on Wednesday that a player making a Top 30 visit to the Commanders doesn't usually get taken. Of course, head coach Ron Rivera may have tipped his hand that offensive lineman is the position Washington is targeting with the No. 16 overall pick. (Or do they trade back?)
Phillips and Sheehan began the conversation with a little talk about Dan Snyder making the sale of the Commanders to the Josh Harris-led group to become finalized (think the summer, not May).
