Despite reports that Dan Snyder has agreed to sell the Commanders to the Josh Harris ownership group for $6 billion, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that an agreement isn’t done just yet.

In fact, Canadian billionaire Steve Apostopolous are “still in the mix,” per Schefter, who says it’s still “anyone’s game” for who will secure the winning bid.

Snyder was reportedly seeking $6 million, and earlier reports indicated that Apostopolous did in fact submit a bid. The $6 million figure would be the highest price ever paid for a sports team, going well beyond the recent sale of the Broncos.

Any deal will have to be approved by the rest of the NFL owners, who likely wouldn’t vote on an ownership change until the next league meetings, Schefter notes, which are scheduled to begin on May 24.

If Snyder wants to wrap things up by then and move on, he would have about another month to decide which group he will sell to, and end his tenure as owner that began back in 1999.
