If there was anyone well-suited to describe the tension at TD Garden in Boston last night for the Heat-Celtics series finale, which saw Miami advance to the NBA Finals after the Celtics tried to complete the impossible comeback from down 0-3…well, it’s someone from Heavy.com.
Heavy was the word, and indeed, that website’s big NBA insider, Sean Deveney, joined The Junks on Tuesday morning hours after the drama ended to discuss Game 7, Boston’s future, the Heat-Nuggets Finals starting on Thursday in Denver, and, of course, a LeBron update.
“It was an interesting hire, because one thing Winger has experience with is rebuilding,” Deveney said. “Tommy Sheppard did the best he could with the guidance being let’s try to win as much as possible and keep Bradley Beal happy, but it’s tough to win that way – because you’re stuck in the mode of be pretty good but not real good. Winger is a guy you can imagine being empowered to say, ‘let’s tear it all down’ in a way previous guys haven’t been – and that’s probably what they need.”
Take a listen to it all above!
